Gino Garibaldi, firey Italian veteran among the heavyweight mat maulers, meets LaVerne Baxter, sensational Texas gent, and Dutch Rohde, who wrestled Babe Sharkey to a draw last week, is coupled with Mike Orloff tonight in a double headliner foursome on the Turner Arena card.
The Garibaldi-Baxter match has been on fire for several weeks, as Garibaldi, now ranked as No. 3 challenger, wants to defy any and all of the mat villians. The ever colorful Baxter always keeps himself hot copy for the box-office, and by meeting Garibaldi at this time, the tall Texan thinks he can muscle his way right through to the top of the contenders. Garibaldi has just larruped four opponents in Chicago. The three supporting matches tonight are Ace Freeman vs. Lou Farino, Buddy Rogers (young brother of Rohde) vs. Joe Ludlum, and Pat Healey, Boston star, meeting Pierre De Glane.
