Herman “Dutch” Rohde, Camden, N.J., star, stole the show on promoter Joe Turner’s weekly mat card last night by turning in two victories, one in 5 minutes and the other in 21. The feature of the night, however, was the Gino Garibaldi vs. LaVerne Baxter tussle, in which Garibaldi won in 20 minutes with a body press.
Rohde’s scores were over Pat Healey in the 5-minute affair, and used a body press to defeat Mike Orloff in a rough and tumble match shortly following. Buddy Rogers, Rohde’s younger brother, defeated Joe Ludlum in 14 minutes with a body press in the curtain raiser, while Ace Freeman floored Lou Farino in 22 minutes with a “cradle hold”.
