Dutch Savage successfully defended his Oregon heavyweight wrestling title by stopping The Claw in the main event of the weekly pro wrestling card at the Lane County Fairgrounds Friday night.
Manny Cruz defeated Mickey Doyle in the semi main event, while Ripper Collins stopped Bud Girard and Jimmy Snuka and Al Madril drew in preliminaries and Ray Glenn dumped Eric Forlich in the opener.

Lincoln Journal – July 4, 1971
Jack Pesek took the Midwest championship away from The Claw Saturday night at the Pershing Auditorium in the pro rassling match by taking two of three falls. The second fall was given to Pesek on a disqualification.
In another match, Cowboy Bob Ellis took five falls to Ox Baker’s one in a Texas Tornado match. Gerry Miller won over Ali Ben Khan and Treach Phillips and Tony Russo drew in other matches.
