Unique Event for Wrestling Card; Two Other Bouts

LOWELL – A unique six-girl battle royal will be one of the features of Tuesday’s wrestling show at the Rex arena as Promoter Fred Bruno continues to bring the top grappling talent of the east to this city.

The six-girl battle, the first of its kind ever held here will find Mars Bennett of Detroit, Candy Carol, Dayton, Ohio, and Beverly Sylvia of New Bedford, meeting Princess Moritza of Argentina, Alma Mills and Lulu Lamar of Canada.

Girl Wrestlers Maul Referee In Feature Bout At Salisbury

Referee Jack Marshall, who has done plenty of wrestling in his life-time, was flattened by, four girl grapplers on the Salisbury Beach mat Saturday night, but finally fought his way free from under the pile of femininity.

Marshall ran into difficulty — if you can call it that — when he attempted to pull apart two of the girl contenders who were pulling hair and acting very-unladylike in one corner. A moment later he was cuffed by Lulu Lamar, New England women’s champion, fell to the mat and she pounced on him, along with her partner, Alma Mills and their two villainous opponents, Jean Hogan of Amarillo, Tex. and Beverly Sylvia.
