GRAND FALLS – In the wrestling card in Grand Falls stadium on Thursday night, Darling Dagmar was awarded the bout over Alma Mills of Alta., after the latter had won the first fall, dropped the second, and was disqualified after she tore the shirt off Tom Dunn the referee. Two boxing bouts were on the same card little paperweight sons, of Jimmy Pond in 3 two minute rounds, and the second bout was that of Terry Moss and Danny Kane, 100 lbs. Both were draws.

Alma Mills Wins Bout But Fans Love Dagmar

Petite but tenacious Alma Mills [pictured] won her second match in a row here last night when she was awarded two falls over beautiful Dagmar but the crowd rose up in righteous anger because referee Tom Dunne didn’t see Alma using the ropes for the final fall.

Alma Mills had her feet twined in the ring rope’s when she pinned Darling Dagmar at 8.31 of the third round to win the match and the crowd screamed “robbery.” One fan jumped at Alma and started to grab at referee Tom Dunne before the police hauled him away.

Two Prelims With Dagmar And Mill At The Stadium

Two local preliminaries will be staged in the stadium ring on Wednesday night prior to the big women’s wrestling match between Darling Dagmar of Columbus, Ohio, and Alma Mills of Alberta, Canada.

Bruce “Barefoot” Fogwill will take on Ken White of Nova Scotia in the first match and Dave Foote of Lamaline will match wits with bad boy Mike Dillon of St. John’s.

The most beautiful girl in wrestling, Darling Dagmar, will make her first appearance here next week at the Stadium when she takes on Alma Mills in the feature grappling card of promoter Tom Dunne.

Miss Dagmar, hailing from Columbus, Ohio, is a TV star as well as arena star of the wrestling world and brings a fine reputation in mat circles. Alma Mills, from Alberta, was the first woman to win a wrestling match here when she beat Hilda Burke two weeks ago.
