Six Girl Tag Match At Rex Tuesday

Lowell Sun – October 4, 1953

Unique Event for Wrestling Card; Two Other Bouts

LOWELL – A unique six-girl battle royal will be one of the features of Tuesday’s wrestling show at the Rex arena as Promoter Fred Bruno continues to bring the top grappling talent of the east to this city.

The six-girl battle, the first of its kind ever held here will find Mars Bennett of Detroit, Candy Carol, Dayton, Ohio, and Beverly Sylvia of New Bedford, meeting Princess Moritza of Argentina, Alma Mills and Lulu Lamar of Canada.

Previously these female stars have taken part in some whirlwind action but the number of contestants in the ring at the same time has always been limited to four.  Tuesday’s match among the six should produce some ring shaking action.

In the main attraction Hill Billy Don Martin who won hosts of new fans and enemies as well last week, will meet Manuel Bonica of Waltham.

In the opening bout, Manuel Zuma meets Nick Valley of Montana.

All bouts are two-falls-out-of-three and are of a 60-minute time limit duration.
