Dutch Savage defeated Bad News Brooks in a “glove match” and Adrian Adonis and Ron Star drew with Playboy Buddy Rose and Ed Wiskowski in a tag-team match Friday night on the professional wrestling card at the Lane County Fairgrounds.  George Wells won by a disqualification over Roddy Piper in the preliminary bout, and Bob Kincaid defeated Hector Guerrero in the opener.

Savage, Anson To Vie In ‘Coal Miners’ Match

Dutch Savage will meet John Anson in a special coal miners glove match Friday night to highlight the professional wrestling card at the Lane County Fairgrounds.

Both wrestlers will battle to see who can get a steel laced glove on top of a 12-foot pole, and whoever gets it can use it on his opponent.

In the main event, Jimmy Snuka will go against Northwest heavyweight champion Ed Wiskowski in a non-title bout, while Johnny Eagle tangles with Wildcat Young and newcomer Jerry Oates takes on Bob Kincaid in a pair of preliminary bouts.  Playboy Buddy Rose will meet Marc Hanna in the opener at 8 p.m.

Savage And Brooks Vie For ‘Coal Miner’s Glove’

Dutch Savage and Bad News Brooks will meet in a “coal miner’s glove match” Friday night in the pro wrestling feature at the Lane County Fairgrounds.  The combatants will go after a steel-laced glove at the top of a 10-foot pole, and the one who gets it first can use it on his opponent.

In prelims, Adrian Adonis and Ron Starr will team against Buddy Rose and Ed Wiskowski, Roddy Piper will test Hector Guerrero and George Wells will take on Bob Kincaid.  Fans may call 345-9717 for reservations for the 8 p.m. card.
