The Lancaster/Depew Bee – September 7, 2000
World Championship Wrestling is bringing one of its major events of the year “Fall Brawl,” to the HSBC Arena on Sunday, Sept. 17, and two local charities will benefit from the nationally televised pay per view event.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit Children’s Hospital and the Ilio DiPaolo Scholarship fund. During the last four years, WCW shows in Buffalo have raised over $400,000 for the two charities.
“The support of WCW for Children’s Hospital and the Ilio DiPaolo Scholarship fund has just been outstanding and we hope it will continue in the future,” said Dennis DiPaolo, Chairman of the event. “The best way to ensure future events is for the great wrestling fans of Western new York to fill HSBC Arena on the 17th.”
The upper echelon of WCW’s roster will be present at the event, which includes a main event pitting challenger Booker T against current WCW Heavyweight Champion Kevin Nash, Goldberg against Scott Steiner, and Shane Douglas taking on Billy Kidman.
Other matches will be announced on Monday Nitro and Thunder broadcasts leading up to the pay per view extravaganza.
Tickets for the event are on sale now at all Fantastix locations, at the HSBC Arena Box Office or can be charged by calling 1-888-223-6000.
