Henry Irslinger, who meets Pet Brown at the city auditorium Friday night, arrived in Hourston Monday from Wichita Falls, where he defeated Pete Sauers, who recently showed here. Irslinger pinned Sauer in 48 minutes. Irslinger also claims a fall from Clarence Eklund in 1 minute and 20 seconds.
Regarding his defeat by Brown at El Paso a few weeks ago, he claims that Brown deliberately kicked him and should have been disqualified. Irslinger came out of the match short a few teeth and a lot of expensive dentist work, Brown’s flying pedal coming in contact with his jaw. He finished the match, however, and held out for 30 minutes before he finally was pinned.
That no love is lost between he and Pet is evidenced by his manner of describing the match. He is loud in his denunciation of the referee for permitting what he termed unfair tactics.
Irslinger weighs about 170 pounds and will enter the ring at about that figure.
