Kansas City, Feb. 14. – (AP) – Three of the field of 30 heavyweight wrestlers entered in a series of matches planned by the Kansas City American Legion to pick a logical contender for the world title claimed by Gus Sonnenberg were eliminated today as a result of the first card last night.
Dan Koloff, bulky Bulgarian who claims the championship of the Balkans, defeated Stanley Stasiak of Poland, two falls out of three, in the feature out.
Henri Deglane of France eliminated Jack Roller of Germany; and Alex Aberg, Russian motion picture strong man, and Pat McGill, Irish-American, wrestled 30 minutes to a draw. The bouts will last almost two weeks.
