Wrestling’s Two Fabulous Personalities Will Collide in Colorful Feature Match – Negro Girl Stars Also Share Spotlight on the Big 4-Match Card.
Gorgeous George’s ostrich feathers will be plucked out if “Wild Red” Berry is able to fulfill his vow to give the “Darling” of the wrestling world “the beating of his life.” The two fabulous wrestling personalities will collide head-on in the big featured match on the star-packed card Tuesday night (Dec 7) in the Municipal Auditorium arena.
The perfumed Hollywood Glamor Boy is returning here to settle the dispute which cropped up in the third fall of their terrific match in the Auditorium last spring. That match drew a record-shattering crowd of more than 10,000 persons. Gorgeous George protested the loss, claiming that Berry used a rope to strangle and the referee failed to come to his assistance. The return Tuesday of the two colorful rivals rates as a mat natural and is expected to attract another big crowd.
Added thrills will be provided in the girls’ feature match when two of America’s great Negro girl wrestlers – Babs Wingo and Ethel Johnson – clash to settle the supremacy issue existing between them. The Negro girls have won nation-wide acclaim for their amazing speed and agility.
Tickets for Tuesday’s big 4-match card are now on sale at ROE’S RESTAURANT. 114 West 12th; SAMMY’S BAR-B-Q, 39th & Baltimore, and MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM box-office. Prices: $1, $2, $3.
