The Day – December 26, 1936

BOSTON, Dec. 26 (AP) – Steve “Crusher” Casey if Ireland, and George Koverly of California not only nursed a grudge today but also slight injuries suffered in their wrestling match which the Irishman won before a holiday crowd of $5,000 in Boston Garden last night.

Casey used his “Killarney whip” to win the only fall in 17 minutes, 34 seconds, the final slam leaving Koverly out cold on the mat, too used up to continue. Casey went to a relief hospital to have damage to his bruised and cut lips repaired.
