Wrestling Benefit For Little League

The Cedartown Standard – May 12, 1988

Professional wrestling comes to Cedartown Saturday night.

Held as a benefit for the Cedartown Little League program, local residents can see such wrestling stars as Mr. Wrestling II, Tommy “Wildfire” Rich, and Ravishing Randy Rose.

The main event Saturday is a Texas Tornado Match featuring Mr. Wrestling II and Ted Oates against Dirty Dick Slater and Mr. Atlanta.  During the match all four wrestlers will be in the ring at the same time.

The opening match will be John Michaels versus Steve “The Brawler” Lawler.  Tommy “Wildfire” Rich will face Randy Rose in a revenge grudge match, and a tag team match will feature Ranger Ross and Steve Prichard against The Outlaw Deaton Brothers from Tyler, Texas.

Cedartown Little League President Kim Deal has agreed to be the special referee to be the special referee for a women’s match featuring Luna against Bambi.

Tickets for the wrestling event can be purchased in advance from First American Rental in Cedar Plaza, where Mr. Wrestling II and Tommy “Wildfire” Rich will appear Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. to sign autographs.

Tickets are $10 for all ringside seats, $8 for adult general admission, and $5 for children 12 and under general admission.  The wrestling matches will be held at the Optimist Field in Cedartown, and all proceeds go to the Cedartown Little League program.
