The Binghamton Press – February 5, 1920
Binghamton sport fans will see two wrestling champions in action Friday night, Feb. 20, at the Lyrie theater, Water street, when Leo Pardello, champion heavyweight of Italy, and Harry Stevens, English titleholder, will clash in a finish bout staged by Young Strangler Lewis, of Endicott.
Lewis signed both men for the bout yesterday. Pardello is rated as one of the cleverest big men in the game. Stevens is no little man and he has held his own with the leading grapplers of the United States. Stevens is considered the heavyweight champion of England, but since coming to this country has been known as the American Apollo.
The bout will be best two of three falls. Lewis will stage one other contest between high class men. It is possible that he may go on the mat himself with a high class middleweight.
If Binghamton fans support Lewis, he plans to bring the best wrestlers in the country to this city.
