Hans Bauer, fully recovered from his rough bout with Strangler Lewis at the Auditorium last Tuesday night, has another tough assignment facing him Wednesday night at the Gayety theater when he tackles Nick Gotch, the giant Ukrainian.
There is intense rivalry between the two and some bad blood as a result of their contest about two months ago at Chicago when Bauer was declared the victor as Gotch stumbled off the ropes to the mat with his shoulders touching the floor for a brief moment.
The big fellow protested vigorously, but the referee stood his ground. Wednesday’s bout will be a two out of three falls bout, but will terminate at midnight, if it lasts that long.
Richard Schikat clashes with Scotty McDougal in the other half of the double feature.
