The Great Togo, the most highly rated of the Japanese wrestlers in this country, will meet Joe Ludlum in the main event here at the Beach Arena Saturday night.
Ludlum got the highly regarded assignment for his fine performance against Mike Clancy here the past Saturday night, Matchmaker Saul Weingeroff said. Ludlum and Clancy each took a fall to wrestle to a draw in a crowd pleasing event.
Togo is the second Japanese wrestler to appear here, having been preceded by Mr. Moto, but Weingeroff says “Togo is way ahead of Moto in every respect. Togo is one of the top 10 villains in the Nation.”
Togo is known for his skill in sumo wrestling, but he is equally adept in the American style of the game, too.
