Champion Wrestler Wins Grueling Match at Lowell
Lowell, Mass., Jan. 21. – Frank A. Gotch and Hjalmar Lundin wrestled for the heavyweight championship of America at the Opera House to-night. Gotch won, getting two falls in succession after a grueling series of twists. The first fall came in 24 minutes and 38 seconds, and the second in 15 minutes and 21 seconds.
Gotch worked his toe-hold to perfection for the first fall, and the hammerlock for the second. Lundin put up a game fight, although he was unable to get much advantage over Gotch.
