Stecher Flops Henry Ordeman

Chicago Tribune, May 4, 1916

MINNEAPOLIS, May 3 (Special) — Henry Ordeman lost to Joe Stecher in straight falls at the Auditorium, but he won the distinction of being the first man to stay more than twenty minutes with the Nebraska comet, incidentally winning
his wager.

It took Stecher 21:50 to pin the Minneapolis wrestler’s shoulders to the mat
twice. Both falls were secured on combination scissors holds. The first, which
came in 11:35, was with a body scissors and half nelson, and the second, in
10:05, with body scissors and further arm hold.

Despite the short duration of the bouts the 2,000 or more wrestling fans were
given plenty of excitement. There was not one minute of loafing during the
whole period. Ordeman was on the defensive nearly all the time.
