Hild Decisions Dotson In Wrestling Feature

Sarasota Herald-Tribune – January 7, 1953

Helen Hild trimmed Dot Dotson in the semifinal (feature) wrestling bout on last night’s American Legion Coliseum card, winning the first fall with a body press in 11 minutes and getting the decision via disqualification after two minutes of the second fall when Miss Dotson pushed Hild and referee Austin Shivers out of the ring.

Jack Vanskey won the first fall of the final scrap but Eddie Gussett came back strong to take the last two falls and the match.  In the opener Dorin O’Hara and Juan Humberto grappled to a 30-minute draw.  A sparse crowd saw the mat performers return after a two-week lapse.
